Florida Rolls Out Statewide Website to Pre-Register for COVID-19 Vaccination

February 3, 2021 in News

Florida officials have created a new website that allows eligible Floridians to sign up for the COVID-19 vaccine. Click here to visit the website.

Currently, the people who are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine in Florida include:

  • Individuals 65 years of age and older;
  • Long-term care facility residents and staff;
  • Healthcare personnel with direct patient contact; and
  • Individuals deemed extremely vulnerable to COVID-19

This website also includes a function for people who are not currently eligible to receive the vaccine to sign up to receive alerts to learn when they might become eligible.

Florida officials are hopeful this new website will help individuals, particularly seniors, who are becoming increasingly frustrated with trying to secure an appointment to receive the vaccine. The idea behind this website is to create a more streamlined process for getting the vaccine to eligible individuals, without the need to spend much time searching for appointments. Officials say that once eligible individuals pre-register on the website, they will be contacted when appointments in their area become available.
